On the beginner level of life, about the age 10 to 25, it is the time when you study, gain knowledge and plan your future. It is a crucial period and the more you use it wisely the more will your upcoming time shine.
There can be two types of people who score good marks. The first one are those who cram up the stuff. They push the things in their brain instead of the brain absorbing the knowledge. Such knowledge doesn’t retain for long. These kind of people usually start preparing just a month before the exams and get good grades.
Then there are those who have been studying since the session started. They let the brain gain stuff at its own pace instead of forcing it to drink everything at once. And the results are rewarding. Not only do they get good marks but the knowledge stays with them forever.
It is believed that those who score good marks in class study till late night, get up early in the morning, don’t watch television or play games. Some believe that they take books along with them to the toilets.
It is a myth…at least for the second type of people. They studied throughout the year at their own pace. They didn’t have to stay up t night to complete their notes or revise for tests. They had been doing it at regular basis. Also, they are children as well and of course they watch television and play video games.
But for the first type of students…they have to do everything in a month that should have been devoted a year. So long nights of math and science will be common for them. The television will stay off for a month or so. Also, they will be putting their mind under the pressure of so much stuff!
My best friend and me top the class and our class mates ask how much time do we study? Our answers shock them and some think we are lying. We say that we study just an hour off the school hours everyday. We do watch movies, play mobile games, read stories and novels.
So how to score good?
- Study at daily basis:- Devote at least an hour each day to study, just an hour. You can go for even half an hour. If you do this throughout the year, nothing can stop you from scoring good.
- Avoid going for tuition :- It is believed that if you go for extra classes, you will score better. I don’t and my performance doesn’t go down. If we pay attention to regular classes in the school, there would be no need for going to tuition. Plus, you will have extra time with yourself.
- Clear your doubts:- Clear your doubts side by side as the lesson is being taught and note down every important thing that the teacher has to say.
- Revise:- Once you are finished with a topic, revise it and do some extra research on it. You remember things better when you search about them by yourself.
- No cramming:- Don’t cram your notes. Read them. Reread them until you understand them. Ask for help form others.
- Study in a peaceful place without disturbance.
- Peace to mind:- Don’t study for the whole day. Go out and enjoy the sun…or the clouds if it is a cloudy day. (I love a cloudy day 🙂 ) This will calm your mind.
- Sleep:-Sleep is very important as at this time your brain sorts out everything you have done that day. It refreshes you for a new day.
- Self- Confidence:- At last, believe in yourself. If you have studied well then believe in yourself. Low confidence can cause nervousness and anxiety. It increases the chances of making a mistake.
These steps when followed will fetch you amazing marks and a golden future. Best of luck in your preparations.
